The New Papal Tiara

The Catholic world at large appreciates the nature, duties and perogatives of the papal office and this appreciation is due chiefly, if not entirely, to the pontifical acts as teacher, ruler and high priest, whose teachings, authority and spiritual ministration have exercised an influence on all humanity, as well as on Catholic subjects.

This man really loves the papacy, even when the papacy hurts itself. Man, I respect that devotion!

Gorgeous!

Pity that His Holiness probably will never wear it...

Lovely tiara, but the cross on top seems a little high above the apex of the tiara itself. The look would be not exactly what I would think would be appropriate for a Roman Pope. That element looks Eastern Orthodox.

Hope it starts to appear on the Holy Father's head for the Easter Blessing and Christmas. Once in a while would be good to see.

Now is the time for the Pope to go back to the ceremonies of old. The tiara is similar in style to that of the late Pope Pius X1 and Blessed John XX111. They both wore teir crowns on the highest state and religious occassions.

Looks a lot better than that metallic nose cone one designed for a previous Pope (who never wore it either!)
